    Centre okays 10k more MedEd seats, to cost Rs 15k crore over 4 years

    The Indian Cabinet has approved a massive expansion of medical education, adding 5,000 postgraduate and 5,023 MBBS seats in government institutions. A Rs 15,034 crore investment will upgrade medical colleges and hospitals, aiming to improve healthcare and address doctor shortages, especially in underserved areas. Additionally, a Rs 2,277 crore DSIR scheme will bolster India's R&D ecosystem.

    Boards from February 17, CBSE says ahead of 2-exam regime

    CBSE will conduct class X and XII board exams starting February 17 next year, introducing a two-session model for class X. The second session, optional for students seeking performance improvement, will be held from May 15 to June 1. This initiative aims to reduce student stress and align with global assessment systems, with around 45 lakh candidates expected to appear.

    PM Narendra Modi chaired a Pragati meeting. He urged officials to resolve infrastructure project issues. He asked them not to wait for reviews. The PM emphasized better coordination. He wants faster project execution. He reviewed eight critical projects. These projects cover mines, railways and water resources. The projects span 15 states and UTs. The cumulative investment is over Rs 65,000 crore.
